Live Sweeping

Use live sweeping when you want to see force and stroke measurements on your phone or iPad during practice. Keep the broom connected while recording.

Check the zero

On the connected-broom screen, Live Force shows the current force reading. With no load applied to the head, use Tare (set zero) if you need to reset the zero. Tare sets the unloaded reference; it is separate from calibration.

Start a session and sweep

  1. On the connected-broom screen, tap Start New Session.
  2. Choose the sweeper for the next sweep if needed. Use the Sweepers tab to create people you want to track.
  3. Tap Start New Sweep. The app waits for the first stroke, then displays the force chart and live statistics.
  4. Sweep normally while the app remains connected. The broom's two system-state LEDs flash blue during live sweep broadcasting.
  5. Tap Stop and Save Sweep when finished. The saved sweep appears with the session's previous sweeps.
  6. Start another sweep when ready. You can change the sweeper between sweeps and add notes to the displayed sweep.

The app can separate a new sweep after a pause in incoming stroke data. Use Stop and Save Sweep when you want to end a particular sweep explicitly.

Continue Last Session, when offered on the connected screen, reopens that broom's latest session from today rather than starting another session.

Keep the right data collection mode

During a live sweep, stroke measurements are sent to the app instead of being saved as background records on the broom. Do not rely on a later download to recover a live stream missed by the phone.

To put the phone away, stop the live sweep first and follow Background Recording. A claimed broom with a valid clock, calibration, and storage space can return to saving locally when live broadcasting ends.
