Saved Devices¶
The app remembers SmartBeams you connect to so it can reconnect when it discovers them again. Open Settings → Saved SmartBeam Devices to see and manage that list.
Find a saved SmartBeam¶
Each entry shows the unit's name, case colour, serial number, and last-seen information. Connected units appear first, followed by the most recently seen units.
A saved unit does not need to be switched on to appear here. Being saved, connected, and assigned to the sheet are separate things: a saved unit may be disconnected, and a connected unit may be outside the timing setup.
For adding a new unit or checking the scanner, see Connecting.
Reconnect or disconnect¶
Tap the ellipsis (…) beside a saved unit to open its actions.
- Connect appears for a disconnected unit when the scanner has discovered it nearby.
- Disconnect ends the current Bluetooth connection but keeps the unit saved. It will not reconnect automatically during the current app session unless you choose to connect it again.
If a saved unit is not nearby or switched on, it cannot be connected from the list. Turn it on and check the scanner.
Forget a unit¶
Use Forget this device for a disconnected unit, or Disconnect and forget for a connected unit.
Forgetting removes the unit from the app's automatic reconnection list. It does not erase your saved timing results. You can add the unit again later by finding it in the scanner and tapping Connect.
Identify or rename a connected unit¶
Open Settings and tap the connected SmartBeam to view its details. You can also tap an assigned beam on the sheet diagram and choose View Details.
The details page shows its identity, versions, signal strength, and battery information. For checking charge, see Charging.
To rename it, tap Edit beside its name, enter the name, and tap Save. You can also press and hold a connected unit in Settings to find Rename Device and Identify.
Identify makes the unit flash an identification pattern so you can match the app entry to the hardware. Renaming a unit does not change its case colour or serial number.
