SmartBroom App¶
The SmartBroom app connects to your broom, shows live sweeping measurements, and downloads stored sweeping data for review on iPhone or iPad.
Compatibility¶
| Device | Minimum operating system |
|---|---|
| iPhone | iOS 17 or later. |
| iPad | iPadOS 17 or later. |
Enable Bluetooth and allow the app to use it. See Connecting for permissions and setup. On iPad, you can use multiple windows with separate brooms.
Find your way around¶
| Tab | What you do here |
|---|---|
| SmartBroom | Connect a broom, start live sessions, prepare background collection, and download saved data. |
| Review | Browse recorded sessions and individual sweeps. Choose SmartBroom 4 in the model selector. |
| Sweepers | Manage the people whose sweeping you record. |
| Settings | Choose units, connection preferences, display options, and data management. |
| About | Find product information, announcements, and support. |
Live or background?¶
| Live sweeping | Background recording | |
|---|---|---|
| Where measurements go | Streamed to the app during a live sweep. | Saved in the broom, then downloaded to the app. |
| Phone connection | Keep the app connected for live feedback. | Not required while sweeping once the broom is prepared. |
| Ownership | An unclaimed broom can be used live. An already bonded broom must be unlocked with its owner's key. | Claim the broom first; the bonding key is needed to download its stored data. |
| Useful for | Practice with immediate feedback and named sweeps. | Games or practice where you want to put the phone away. |
Background recording means recording on the broom, rather than keeping the phone app running in the background. Live transmission and local background storage are different operating modes, not two simultaneous copies of the same sweep.
Start with Connecting, then choose Live Sweeping or Background Recording.
For individual force samples and CSV capture, see Raw Live Data.
