Replacing Sleeves¶
Replace the fabric sleeve when it becomes worn or dirty. The foam and two tension plates are reusable; changing the sleeve does not require replacing the whole pad.
Choose a sleeve¶
Curling Tools offers recreational and competition sleeves for its brooms. For competition, check Competition Use before fitting a new sleeve: the broom, foam, and sleeve must form an approved combination.
Find replacement sleeves on curling.tools.
Change the sleeve¶
- Unsnap the head from the pad. The Curling Tools head snaps in and out of the pad.
- Remove the two tension plates from inside the foam, noting how they are positioned.
- Remove the foam from the old sleeve.
- Fit the foam into the new sleeve.
- Refit both tension plates in their original positions inside the foam. Check that they sit flat and their attachment tabs are aligned.
- Snap the head back into the pad. Check that it is fully seated and the pad is securely attached before sweeping.
If the head will not seat properly, remove it and check the plates' position and alignment before trying again.
