Settings¶
Use the Settings tab for app preferences. To change a connected broom's power-saving options, tap its name on the connected-broom screen.
App preferences¶
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Units | Displays force in kilograms or pounds. |
| Automatic Connection | Reconnects to saved SmartBrooms discovered nearby. |
| Proximity Connection | Connects to a nearby SmartBroom with a strong enough signal, including an unsaved broom. |
| Blackout Mode | Hides live sweep data from view. |
For a deliberate one-broom-per-window setup on iPad, connect each broom from its intended window. See Multiple Windows on iPad.
Saved devices and data¶
Saved SmartBroom Devices lists remembered brooms. Disconnect when you want to end a connection but keep the saved device.
Forgetting a bonded broom removes its remembered key and can make data still on the broom unrecoverable. Read Bonding and Ownership before forgetting or changing ownership.
SmartBroom 4 Data Management contains saved-data information, download history, and erasure options. See Sessions and Downloads.
Broom power saving¶
Open the connected broom's details to find Power Saving:
- Shake to wake: allows the broom to wake when shaken after an automatic power-down.
- Sweep idle sleep: powers down after the selected time without a recorded sweep.
- Motion idle sleep: powers down after the selected time without movement.
These timeouts are bypassed while Bluetooth is connected. For Background Recording, choose settings that suit your use and check that the broom is awake before sweeping.
