Firmware Updates

The SmartBroom app checks for compatible firmware when your broom connects. You can also tap the connected broom's name to open its details, then choose Check for Updates.

Install an update

  1. Finish and save any live sweep. Charge the broom if needed; updates require at least 10% battery.
  2. Connect the broom and open the available update. Read its release notes.
  3. Tap Update SmartBroom. Keep the app open, the broom powered on, and the phone or iPad close to it.
  4. Wait while the app downloads, verifies, and transfers the update. Transfer progress is shown in the app.
  5. The broom restarts after installation and the app returns to the SmartBroom list. Reconnect to confirm the update.

If the update does not finish

Read the message shown by the app. Check the broom's charge and connection, then use Try Update Again when offered. An update being transferred is not yet confirmation that the new version is running; let the broom restart and reconnect for verification.

For a persistent problem, contact Curling Tools with the broom's serial number and the message shown in the app.
